The Northwest Arkansas Development Strategy is the blueprint for growing jobs and creating economic opportunities in Northwest Arkansas into the next decade.
The strategy reflects the input from thousands of Northwest Arkansans and the best thinking of regional and national development experts. It sets forth a proactive approach to community and economic development.
On January 18, 2011, the Northwest Arkansas Development Strategy was released and efforts to implement the plan are already underway throughout Northwest Arkansas.
The process, Strategy and recommendations are summarized in a 12-page Executive Summary (Greater NWA Development Strategy - Executive Summary.pdf).
Key reports include:
•Competitive Assessment - a report card on how Northwest Arkansas stacks up
•Target Cluster Analysis - an identification of the eight target job growth sectors that offer Northwest Arkansas the best potential for growing jobs and economic opportunities over the next several years
•NWA Regional Development Strategy.pdf - a summary of specific recommended actions to ensure that Northwest Arkansas remains economically competitive into the next decade
If we can accomplish the priorities established in the Greater Northwest Arkansas Development Strategy over the next few years, we can take Northwest Arkansas to the next level; helping to ensure an even better quality of life for our children and future generations.
